Charity Golf Day 2025

On Sunday 25 May 2025 Town & Country Aggregates’ annual charity golf day took place at the Buxton & High Peak Golf Club.

L-R: Mike Szostakowicz, David Slack, Steven Morten, Chris Large

The team from Town & Country Aggregates – Steven Morten, David Slack, Chris Large and Mike Szostakowicz – were the overall winners and were presented with the George Mellor Memorial Trophy.

The annual event is in memory of George Mellor – a very good friend of Steven and David – who was a member of the club for many years.

Unfortunately, George lost his battle with cancer and since then David Slack (who has also lost family members to cancer) has done an amazing job raising money for The Christie Charity.

Steven Morten, Town & Country Aggregates’ MD, is very supportive of the event and covered the extensive costs associated with the charity golf day, including hospitality, the prizes and much more.

This year David and Steven raised over £6,600, bringing the total amount they have raised for the charity to over £23,500.

The monies raised will help support the essential work of The Christie Charity, which provides specialist cancer treatment that is not available on the NHS.
